Softball Recap: Colbert County Comes Up Short

Colbert County lost against Belgreen back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kylee Holland and Hallie Holland stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kylee went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Hallie went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Kylee is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracie Summers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Colbert County's loss dropped their record down to 12-12-1. As for Belgreen, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colbert County will welcome Clements at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belgreen, they will square off against Hackleburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
