Basketball Recap: Branchville Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Branchville posted their closest victory since January 19th on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 win over the Edisto Cougars. This was payback for the Yellow Jackets, who suffered a 69-59 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Branchville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Felder, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Felder has posted since back in December of 2023. Kyran Glover was another key player, putting up 14 points and seven rebounds.

Branchville's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Edisto, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Branchville will take on Bluffton in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Edisto and Bamberg-Ehrhardt will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
