Recap: East Henderson Eagles vs. Pisgah Bears
This season hasn't been kind to The East Henderson Eagles, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were beaten by Pisgah 41-6 on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Henderson in their matchups with Pisgah: they've now lost six in a row.
Lex Burns threw for 139 yards and a touchdown. James Robinson was his top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
East Henderson's defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 West Henderson and 13-1 Andrews (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.7% over those games). As for Pisgah, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
East Henderson will be playing in front of their home fans against Smoky Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Smoky Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Henderson in North Carolina (Smoky Mountain is ranked 175th, while East Henderson is ranked 380th). As for Pisgah, they will head out on the road to face off against North Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Henderson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
