Softball Game Preview: Moon Valley Rockets vs. Greenway Demons

For the second straight game, Moon Valley will face off against Greenway. The Rockets are taking a road trip to square off against the Demons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moon Valley has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 11 straight defeats, while Greenway will come in with seven straight wins.

Moon Valley came up short against Greenway on Tuesday, falling 19-1.

For Greenway's part, Madison Bailey made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bailey has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Ciera Upshaw was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dakoda Tatum, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Greenway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Greenway's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Moon Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
