Basketball Game Preview: McClymonds Warriors vs. Envision Academy

McClymonds has gone a perfect 3-0 against Envision Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The McClymonds Warriors will face off against Envision Academy at 6:00 p.m. McClymonds will be strutting in after a win while Envision Academy will be coming in after a loss.

McClymonds took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 50-24 margin over Skyline.

Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Envision Academy can now relate to. They took a 73-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leadership. While losing is never fun, Envision Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 976th, while Leadership is ranked 465th).

McClymonds will have to contain Chuka ACHINULO as he made an impact in Envision Academy's last game. He dropped a double-double with 21 points and 44 boards. ACHINULO is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. MALIK MCKenzie was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 32 boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Envision Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 49 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Envision Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for McClymonds, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.
