Volleyball Recap: Oxford Academy Comes Up Short

Oxford Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Gahr on Saturday. The Oxford Academy Patriots took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gahr Gladiators. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Oxford Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Gahr work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 28-26.

When it comes to explaining why Oxford Academy lost, don't look at Ayden Nguyen. Despite the final result, he had 12 assists and three digs. Matthew Kim also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Oxford Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Gahr, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Oxford Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against Salesian on the 8th. As for Gahr, they will welcome Bellflower at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
