Baseball Game Preview: Tesoro Titans vs. Aliso Niguel Wolverines

The Tesoro Titans will challenge the Aliso Niguel Wolverines at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Tesoro didn't have quite enough to beat Trabuco Hills and fell 2-1. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Aliso Niguel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Dana Hills a 1-0 shutout on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not much got past Cooper Flemming, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Dana Hills off the board. Flemming has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aliso Niguel saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Covington, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Aliso Niguel's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tesoro, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Tesoro beat Aliso Niguel 5-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
