Softball Recap: Wesclin Warriors vs. Breese Central Cougars

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wesclin had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Breese Central Cougars. The win was familiar territory for Wesclin who now have five in a row.

Brooke Goetter was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Goetter was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Anna Gall was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

On Breese Central's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piper Kujawa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Makenna Budde was another key contributor, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with a stolen base.

Wesclin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8. As for Breese Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.
