Baseball Game Preview: Overlake Owls vs. King's Knights

For the second straight game, Overlake will face off against King. The Owls will be playing at home against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Overlake will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

King's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Overlake hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Owls never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For King's part, Titan Root was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Root also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Knights are 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise.

Overlake's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for King's, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
