Volleyball Recap: Schoharie Takes a Loss

Schoharie lost against Mekeel Christian Academy on Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Storm took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Mekeel Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bria Salvo, who had 18 assists and five kills. Salvo has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 14 times she's played. Paige Brennan was another key player, getting seven kills, three digs, and one block.

Schoharie's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4-1 record this season.

Schoharie will take on Mayfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Lansingburgh on the 18th.
