Preview: Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs vs. Dover Pirates
The Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Dover Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Arkansas Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Dover likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Central Arkansas Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Maumelle Charter, taking the game 62-50. Given Central Arkansas Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Maumelle Charter is ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Dover was the victim of a rough 56-35 loss at the hands of Lamar on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dover has scored all season.
Central Arkansas Christian pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Dover, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Central Arkansas Christian took their win against Dover in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 65-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Arkansas Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
