Soccer Recap: Alexander Takes a Loss

After flying high against Newnan last Tuesday, Alexander came back down to earth. The Alexander Cougars fell 5-3 to the Allatoona Buccaneers on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Buccaneers: they've now lost four in a row.

Emory Pitts wasn't going to let Allatoona walk away unscathed as she scored all three of Alexander's goals, bringing her season total up to 12 goals.

Alexander's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Allatoona, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Coming up, Alexander will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. Alexander is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.6 goals per game this season. As for Allatoona, they will head out on the road to face off against Cartersville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Allatoona's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last four matchups.
