Softball Recap: Lyman Greyhounds vs. The First Academy Royals
Lyman fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against The First Academy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of 10-9. The Greyhounds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Royals from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Emma Chauncey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brooke Proulx stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
