Softball Recap: Fair Lawn Comes Up Short

Wayne Valley hit Fair Lawn with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cutters fell 10-7 to the Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-6 on April 9th.

Morgan Hayes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Blake Weiner, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Fair Lawn has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Wayne Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Fair Lawn will head out on the road to challenge Pascack Valley at 4:15 p.m. on May 8. As for Wayne Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hawthorne at 4:15 p.m.
