Baseball Recap: Waterford Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Waterford's offense. They fell just short of the Montville Wolves by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Waterford moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Montville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford will head out to face off against Norwich Free Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Montville, they will head out on the road to square off against Bacon Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolves 3, the Bobcats 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
