Basketball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial lost against Peoria back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Centennial Chargers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Peoria Lions. The Chargers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Peoria, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-24.

Centennial and Peoria could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Centennial (ranked 489th) will meet Peoria Notre Dame (ranked 13th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Peoria will face off against East Peoria at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th down 294 places (498 vs. 204).
