Basketball Game Preview: Sandy Valley Cardinals vs. Carrollton Warriors

The Sandy Valley Cardinals and the Carrollton Warriors will face off at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

On Friday, Sandy Valley opened the new year with a less-than-successful 53-41 loss to Garaway. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Pirates are ranked 139th).

Meanwhile, Carrollton didn't have too much trouble with Salem on Friday as they won 67-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Sandy Valley's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-5. As for Carrollton, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Sandy Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Carrollton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandy Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
