Volleyball Recap: Marshall's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Marshall had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Oblong Panthers. While the Lions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

While Marshall won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-17.

Harper Richardson paced Marshall's offense, picking up six kills. Richardson got some help from Addy Ross and her seven assists. Richardson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Oblong, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will welcome Mt. Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oblong, they will challenge Cisne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
