While UIC College Prep didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 35-26 win over the Hansberry Bengals on Monday. The Firecats' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Despite the loss, Hansberry still got an impressive performance from Miyay Jordan, who posted 12 points along with six boards and six steals. That was a full 46.2% of Hansberry's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terraiya Ross-Conner, who had four points along with six rebounds and four steals.

UIC College Prep pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.5 points. As for Hansberry, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. UIC College Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on DRW College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. UIC College Prep's defense has only allowed 16.2 points per game this season, so DRW College Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hansberry, they will host Rauner at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hansberry is facing Rauner at the right time seeing as Rauner is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
