Basketball Recap: Wheaton Academy Comes Up Short

Wheaton Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The match between them and the Hinsdale Central Red Devils didn't end well, with the Wheaton Academy Warriors falling 85-69. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Red Devils are ranked fifth).

Wheaton Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Hinsdale Central, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.

Wheaton Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop McNamara at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bishop McNamara's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Hinsdale Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hinsdale South at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hinsdale Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Hinsdale South likes a good challenge.
