Basketball Recap: Merrill Vandals vs. Vestaburg Wolverines
A victory for Merrill just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They were dealt a 63-35 defeat at the hands of the Vestaburg Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vandals of the 67-45 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.
This is the second loss in a row for Merrill and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Vestaburg, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merrill will venture away from home to face off against Ashley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vestaburg, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Carson City-Crystal at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vestaburg is facing Carson City-Crystal at the right time seeing as Carson City-Crystal is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
