Basketball Recap: Coffeeville Comes Up Short

Coffeeville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. The contest between them and the Water Valley Blue Devils didn't end well, with the Coffeeville Pirates falling 50-31. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2015.

Coffeeville's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Water Valley, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-8 record.

Coffeeville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calhoun City at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Water Valley, they will welcome Charleston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Charleston will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Water Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
