Volleyball Recap: Magdalena Takes a Loss

Magdalena lost against Reserve back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Steers fell just short of the Mountaineers by a score of 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Magdalena wouldn't go down easily and took Reserve into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-10, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11.

Magdalena has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Reserve, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Magdalena is set to face off against their familiar foe Quemado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Reserve will challenge rival Animas at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
