The Tallassee Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Montgomery Catholic Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Tallassee sitting on three straight victories and Montgomery Catholic on five.
Last Monday, everything went Tallassee's way against Stanhope Elmore as Tallassee made off with a 14-7 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted against the Mustangs since April 3, 2018.
Jack Butler looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brue Milner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Tallassee: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 6-8-2 otherwise. Konner Taunton also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Tallassee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Montgomery Catholic sidestepped North Bay Haven Academy for a 6-5 win.
Montgomery Catholic let Sal Barranco and Gavin Phelan run wild. Barranco went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Phelan scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Barranco a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Ethan Levanda, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Tallassee pushed their record up to 9-8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Montgomery Catholic, their record is now 7-10-1.
Tallassee took their win against Montgomery Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will Tallassee repeat their success, or does Montgomery Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
