Penn Manor extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping their season record up to 10-7 in the process. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Hempfield Black Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-2 on April 9th.

Juleigh Bowmaster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Penn Manor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haley Kreider, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Hempfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Hempfield's side, Lily Ashton was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Coming up, Penn Manor will host Manheim Township at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hempfield, they will square off against Exeter Township at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Black Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
