The Biggs Wolverines will take on the Burney Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Biggs is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
Biggs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Princeton get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 games by six runs or more this season.
Gracie Sheppard was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Biggs got a massive performance out of Emma Bermudez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Bermudez has posted since back in April of 2024. Natalie Harris-Villalobos was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Burney, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chester on Friday, sneaking past 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Mia Perez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Burney saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalia Maldonado, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Emily Aubuchon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Burney pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Biggs, their victory bumped their record up to 23-3-1.
Everything went Biggs' way against Burney in their previous matchup back in March, as Biggs made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
