Basketball Recap: Baptist Hill Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Scott's Branch came into Saturday's matchup looking for another win against Baptist Hill, but Kyi?Lann Gordon wouldn't allow it. The Baptist Hill Bobcats managed a 68-63 win over the Scott's Branch Eagles on Saturday thanks in part to Gordon, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Darnell Gadsden, who posted ten points and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Scott's Branch lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Trayvon Bannister, who earned 15 points. Dayvon Bannister was another key player, putting up 13 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Baptist Hill and bumps their season record up to 10-11. As for Scott's Branch, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

Baptist Hill will face off against Branchville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Baptist Hill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. Scott's Branch has already played their next contest (against Bethune-Bowman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
