Basketball Game Preview: Routt Catholic Rockets vs. North Greene Spartans

The Routt Catholic Rockets will face off against the North Greene Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Routt Catholic's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while North Greene has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Routt Catholic will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Liberty, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Routt Catholic came out on top against Liberty by a score of 62-49 on Tuesday. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Eagles are ranked 410th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Greene came up short against Southwestern on Wednesday and fell 44-36.

North Greene's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Routt Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 21-2.

Everything went Routt Catholic's way against North Greene when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Routt Catholic made off with a 58-37 win. Does Routt Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Greene turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
