Basketball Game Preview: Andover Central Jaguars vs. Newton Railroaders

The Andover Central Jaguars will venture away from home to take on the Newton Railroaders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andover Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Andover Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 84-41 blowout they got against Goddard. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jaguars had established a 29 point advantage.

Jayden Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 12 en route to 20 points along with six assists and three steals. Those six assists gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Jefferson, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Newton played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Andover 63-33. The loss continues a trend for the Railroaders in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Andover Central pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
