Baseball Recap: Heights Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Heights waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos 11-0. 11 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Matthew Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Luke Crouse was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Chris-Angel Jimenez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Heights pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cesar E. Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
