Softball Game Preview: Woodland Beavers vs. Washougal Panthers

Woodland has gone a perfect 10-0 against Washougal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Beavers will take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Woodland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Woodland got the win against Hockinson by a conclusive 25-8. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Alexis Alpanalp was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Manalili, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Woodland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Washougal came up short against Columbia River on Monday, falling 12-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodland's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Washougal, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything went Woodland's way against Washougal in their previous meeting back in April, as Woodland made off with a 21-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
