Basketball Recap: Resurrection Catholic Starts Season with Victory Against UMS-Wright Prep

Resurrection Catholic took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 70-59 win over the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 84-36 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Resurrection Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from TYRESE RICARDO, who went 6-for-10 en route to 16 points and six boards. That's the most rebounds RICARDO has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was DENZEL EATON, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Coming up, Resurrection Catholic will head out to take on St. Stanislaus at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on St. Luke's Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
