Softball Recap: Hereford's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Hereford's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Borger Bulldogs. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Whitefaces' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Lexi Vallejo was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Lia Gaytan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Hereford's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-17. As for Borger, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-26 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hereford will challenge Perryton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Whitefaces are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Borger, they will take on Canyon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
