Softball Recap: Philipsburg-Osceola Triumphs

Philipsburg-Osceola won the last time they faced Penns Valley Area and things went their way on Monday too. The Mountaineers came out on top against the Rams by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.

Alivia Bizzarri made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.

Philipsburg-Osceola's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Penns Valley Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philipsburg-Osceola will face off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penns Valley Area, they will take on Clearfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bison have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
