Woodbury and Mounds View are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Royals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Woodbury: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Mounds View has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

On Wednesday, Woodbury was able to grind out a solid victory over Irondale, taking the game 4-1. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won nine in a row.

Gavin Dahl tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Gessner, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Tyler LaMott also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Mounds View sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Roseville on Wednesday.

Mounds View's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Woodbury, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
