Recap: Angleton Wildcats vs. Friendswood Mustangs
The Angleton Wildcats fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Friendswood, posting a 49-14 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Angleton, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Angleton can attribute much of their success to Elijah Simmons, who rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Kaden Jammer got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Friendswood still got an impressive performance from Garrett Muecke, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Muecke was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Angleton's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Friendswood, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Magnolia West the next time they take the field. Angleton will host Magnolia West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Friendswood will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
