Softball Recap: Holgate Tigers vs. Stryker Panthers
Holgate barely beat Stryker the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 11-0 on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Graysen Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those runs were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Holgate got a massive performance out of Lyndee Palte, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those runs marked the first that Palte has scored this season. Hannah East was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
