Baseball Recap: West Ashley Comes Up Short

West Ashley came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to the James Island Trojans. The Wildcats have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

West Ashley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Mullinax, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

West Ashley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for James Island, their victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

While West Ashley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
