Baseball Recap: Germantown Has No Trouble Against Shorewood

Germantown entered their tilt with Shorewood on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Greyhounds a 16-0 shutout. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Warhawks this season.

Doug Wagner looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Grady Cheever was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ian Demichiel, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Germantown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shorewood struck out eight times.

Germantown's record now sits at 3-1. As for Shorewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Germantown will host Menomonee Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shorewood, they will venture away from home to face off against Wauwatosa West at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
