Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Adventist Academy Kodiaks vs. Ocosta Wildcats

The Columbia Adventist Academy Kodiaks will challenge the Ocosta Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Columbia Adventist Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Last Wednesday, Columbia Adventist Academy didn't have too much trouble with Taholah as they won 68-51. Given the Kodiaks' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Chitwhins are ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ocosta's game on Wednesday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Pe Ell by a score of 50-42. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Ocosta's win came from a few key players Columbia Adventist Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kayden Turner, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Sonny Beard, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

Ocosta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive games.

Columbia Adventist Academy's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Ocosta, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
