Baseball Recap: Heritage Christian Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Heritage Christian entered their tilt with St. John's Northwestern Military Academy on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They skirted past the Lancers 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 on Saturday.

M. Geibl was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Heritage Christian is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise. Geibl was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on J. Draeger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Heritage Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian will head out to take on Kenosha Bradford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.27 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Pius XI Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
