Basketball Recap: Deer Isle-Stonington Comes Up Short

Deer Isle-Stonington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 53-18 defeat at the hands of the Greenville Lakers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-33 back in December of 2024.

Deer Isle-Stonington's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Greenville, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Deer Isle-Stonington will challenge George Stevens Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenville has already played their next match (against Penquis Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
