Basketball Game Preview: Watertown Arrows vs. Washington Warriors

The Watertown Arrows will face off against the Washington Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Watertown came up short against Lincoln on Tuesday, falling 76-50. While losing is never fun, the Arrows can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Patriots are ranked third).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washington). They claimed a resounding 79-49 win over Brookings. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Watertown dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Washington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Watertown came out on top in a nail-biter against Washington when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 56-53. Will Watertown repeat their success, or does Washington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
