Softball Recap: Cheney Tech Comes Up Short

Cheney Tech extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Monday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Prince RVT Falcons, falling 28-13. Even if the Beavers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Ai'Lani Alvelo stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That run marked the first that she has scored this season. Abigael Babcock was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs.

As for Prince RVT, their record is now 3-4. That 15-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

On Prince RVT's side, they got a massive performance out of Olivia Baptiste, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and six RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexxa Rivera, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.

Looking ahead, Cheney Tech will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Goodwin RVT at 3:45 p.m. As for Prince RVT, they will host Vinal RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
