Basketball Recap: Central Florida Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Central Florida Christian Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 62-39 to the North Tampa Christian Academy Titans on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since February 15, 2024.

Despite the loss, Central Florida Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Julian DeClou, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 20 points and five boards. DeClou is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Semaj Washington was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

North Tampa Christian Academy was led to victory by Toni Bryant and Archie McFadden. Bryant dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds, while McFadden went 6-for-11 en route to 14 points along with five boards and three steals. That's the most points McFadden has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caleb Sanders, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Central Florida Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.
