Baseball Game Preview: ThunderRidge Grizzlies vs. Castle View Sabercats

ThunderRidge is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to defend their home field against the Castle View Sabercats at 4:15 p.m. The last three games ThunderRidge has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, ThunderRidge needed a bit of extra time to put away Valor Christian. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Eagles.

Cameron Carpinello looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of ThunderRidge's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Shane Christy was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Kyle Zebroski was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Castle View unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Legend by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Sabercats have suffered since March 17th.

Samuel Harry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Bitton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Castle View's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for ThunderRidge, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
