Baseball Recap: Green County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Green County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Monroe County Falcons on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Falcons back in April, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Hayden Blakeman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Houston Hodges, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Andrew Houk was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Green County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Green County's record is now 16-11. As for Monroe County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.

As of now, neither Green County nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
