Volleyball Recap: Refugio Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Refugio was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ingleside on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Refugio came up short against Skidmore-Tynan on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Refugio was not able to make up for their defeat to Skidmore-Tynan from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-9, 25-12.

When it comes to explaining why Refugio lost, don't look at Ja'Zae-Lynne Lewis. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and six blocks. Another player making a difference was Cedie Wills, who had 14 digs and two blocks.

Refugio's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Skidmore-Tynan, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Refugio is set to face off against their familiar foe Agua Dulce at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Skidmore-Tynan will challenge rival Woodsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
