Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Rancho Cotate

The matchup between Rancho Cotate and Ukiah on Friday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in March, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Dylan McReynolds Jr. was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Morie, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rancho Cotate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.

The victory (which was Rancho Cotate's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Ukiah, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

Rancho Cotate will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
