Basketball Game Preview: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Hitchcock County Falcons

The Arapahoe Warriors and the Hitchcock County Falcons will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Hitchcock County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Arapahoe, who comes in off a win.

Arapahoe is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Brady: they outscored them in every quarter. Arapahoe was the clear victor by a 65-39 margin over Brady on Friday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

Arapahoe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ruby McCune led the charge by putting up 11 points and seven boards. Those 11 points gave McCune a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Desi Farner, who posted 12 points.

Arapahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Hitchcock County played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 73-39 loss at the hands of Maywood/Hayes Center. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.

Hitchcock County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Arapahoe, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Arapahoe took their victory against Hitchcock County when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 49-26. Does Arapahoe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hitchcock County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
